Charlton Lee, viola
Before there was SF, there was:
Born in Berkeley during the Free Speech Movement, a couple years in the New England Conservatory Prep, surviving a fall while cliff climbing as a teen in Los Alamos, New Mexico, back to Berkeley for a degree in math and physics, working on an experimental physics group at Fermilab, backpacking for months across Europe, starting music school, visiting China during Tiananmen events in 1989, getting a Masters in Music from SFCM and starting Del Sol in 1992.
Why music?
It was a way to share my passions with a larger audience. Well, at least larger than high energy physics.
You’re a nerd.
I love to explore and learn. I believe I’m the only person to have published articles in both Physics Review Letters and Strings Magazine. I’m a 20th generation disciple of Chen Taiji. I love black diamond mogul ski runs, backpacking in the mountains, volleyball, ping-pong and tennis. I love coming up with new recipes fusing Chinese and New Mexican cuisines and reading awesome speculative fiction by authors such as Gene Wolfe, Ursula Le Guin, Neil Gaiman, and Liu Cixin.
What is the craziest thing you’ve eaten?
I’m Chinese...nothing is too crazy.
What conspiracy theory intrigues you the most?
Why do so many people believe conspiracy theories?
On tour, the most important thing is to…
Share our music with new audiences, explore new places and find the best hidden gem of a restaurant.
